I ran for City Council at-Large in 2021 on a ticket with Paul Presinzano. We were concerned that the mayor’s unopposed slate of council candidates would be elected without any opportunity for discussion of the issues or debate. That’s not good for Democracy or for Hoboken, so we took it upon ourselves to join the race.

Unfortunately, we didn’t win, but we did REALLY well for first-time candidates, and I’m very proud of what we accomplished. We got to meet a ton of our fellow citizens to talk about important issues that were not being addressed – things like parking and everyday flooding of streets and basements. These are not sexy topics that politicians typically chase for headlines, but we’re not politicians. Paul is just someone who loves Hoboken and wants to help make it better for everyone - a goal he works to accomplish every day.

Over the past two years, I’ve gotten more information from Paul on Twitter than I’ve ever gotten from the administration. For more than 600 days, Paul has been using the platform to stay on top of things, talking to people, engaging neighbors, getting answers, tirelessly working on solutions for the problems all of us face. It’s truly inspiring. It's not about pointing fingers or name calling, it’s about staying positive and working toward solutions. To me, that’s what government should be about.

I’m proud to call Paul Presinzano my friend and proud to endorse him for 1st ward Council. I encourage everyone to reach out to Paul and see for yourself that he’s someone who’s worthy of your vote.
